Trying my hand at painting...

Last weekend I was helping my mom pull together one of the guest rooms at their house. It has been a work in progress, but I have to say it is really coming together. At first the space felt a bit disjointed. We loved the wall color (a warm melon) and the new bedspread (a punchy multi-color paisley) but it was missing something. Recently my mom added a beautiful dresser that she picked up for a song and refinished in a bright cheery red and some great side tables in a green finish and everything started to gel. She wanted some fun artwork to pull all the colors together so she asked me to do some paintings for the space.

Here is the first one:



I got my inspiration from a painting I saw in House Beautiful. The other one i did was inspired by Amanda Nisbet's Positano fabric:
